For those of you that visit our store, you have probably noticed that Miss Duffy’s is going through some changes. We are experiencing a few growing pains. Most all of our new site is functioning, but there are things that need tweaking- larger pictures etc. Bear with us. New items are arriving daily, but will likely be added without me blogging about them. If you are a vintage holiday collector, you will want to check back frequently. We have a wonderful new line of vintage inspired jewelry arriving soon, and many more relics and vintage inspired offerings. Don’t miss them. I don’t want my blog to become all about what is new in my store. I will blog about some things, but most will go unrecognized. The above pictures are a sneak peek into my Christmas line!

Now, isn’t this beautiful? This is the crown that I received in my friend Holly’s Tiara swap. My partner was Lori at Vintage Flair. It was so much fun, and I just love the beautiful Marie Antoinette crown that she made me. I don’t know how she did it, but she really made it perfect for my taste. She has just blogged about the one I sent her. She has it beautifully displayed on the corner of a vintage frame.

This next picture is a close up of the glittered Acanthus spray that I used as the base for Lori’s crown. This was my favorite Christmas offering last year, so I brought it back this year in my Glitterville Line. I just love the velvety glittered leaves, they appear so vintage in their style and design. I think thats why I love them so much. For the crown, I just clipped a couple of leaves. The shape against the crown makes me think of wings. At Christmas we used these to fill our tree, and apothecary jars around the house. I have plans to spruce up an old wreath this year by tucking clippings of them here and there. I’ll be sure to blog about it when and if it happens. Kasse

These buckles are the most feminine vintage find that I have scoured in quite sometime- so prairie chic. I only have two, and they are truly one-of- a- kind pieces. Wonderful wearable art handmade using vintage broaches! There will not be another two likes these sweet things again. Hope you enjoy! If you have interest, you can find them on my website www.missduffys.com. You can shop for them in my Torn and Tattered catagory! You will find a few more newly added vintage offerings once you are there. Happy Shopping!

I have been so bad about getting to my blog this summer. I have such a hard time staying indoors during this time of year. One of my previous neighbor/friends made these stones for me one summer. I just love them. Although I don’t see her very often, I always think of her when I walk by them. She was just one of those people- I really enjoyed her company. I hope to leave impressions in people like that. Living in the Country is a little hard to get use to. I love it, but I do miss leaning over the fence for a chat with someone.

Here are some after and before pictures of our garden. We planted our garden before we unpacked our moving boxes, and I am not kidding. If you need proof, I will snap a picture of our garage, basement, and spare bedroom- not quite so romantic.

I know that I promised pictures of my Lavender plants, but they are really struggling. Although the rest of my garden gave applause to the torrential rains of the past month, my Lavender has not been quite the fan. You will just have to be satisfied with the Echinacea, commonly known as Cone Flower. I brought these from our old home just this year. When we arrived, most of this was just dirt. We planted the grass, and made the strawberry beds from rocks we found around the house. By the way, when I say we, I don’t mean our landscape artist, designer, cast and backstage crew. I mean my husband and I. Just thought I’d throw that in- we are just real people doing real things. Eat your heart out Martha! We moved nearly all the flowers in the yard from our previous dwelling place. Most of them aren’t showing much, but a few didn’t mind the move at all. I guess flowers are a bit like people- some don’t adjust as well as others. I do have to add that there is reccommended growing conditions for us all. Just something to think about!

Lastly, new potatoes. Served best broiled in olive oil and garlic, but equally tasty sliced thin and fried.
