Ok, I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that my Birthday Fleamarketing weekend never happened. I got sick Sat. I tried to go anyway, but my thoughtful hubby talked me out of it by PROMISING that we would go in April. I’m glad he did because by Sun. morning my sickness had put me in bed. I kept dreaming of all the things I might have missed, and have been sulking for a few days, but now I’m over it. Next time I’m not telling when I’m going. I’ll just come back with stories to tell. Than I won’t feel bad about faking you all out.

Now, for the good news!! My website is a bargin bin!! Today all my Easter has went on sale. Please go over www.missduffys.com and take advantage. Take note that there is limited quantities, and that I have no way of stopping purchases with my shopping cart system. You may order, only to find out through an email, that we have over sold. I will be watching, so I can remove items as they sell, but I may not catch them all. I apologize ahead of time!!

Here I am again posting early. I’ve just been too excited to wait. I know I’ve told a few of you that I’m just not crafty, but I’ve been so inspired by all the wonderful things you all have been showing, that I had to try this one. First, this is not my idea. A few weeks back, I was lost somewhere in blogland. You know how it can be, and I ran across an egg similar to this. I wish I knew where I was, so I could give credit to someone. If anyone reads this, and knows, give me a link and I will post it. I had told myself “NO” at first. I have a problem of rounding up all sorts of tidbits for projects that I never end up doing, or I end up doing them, but doing them badly. Then I ran across the foam egg at Hobby Lobby- it was only 2.49, so I thought what the heck. Anyway, I have no problem hording things away. Finding little pieces of this or that, and not knowing why in the heck I need it, having absolutely no reason for it, but need it no less. It’s hard for me to resist pretty little “what nots”. I have had this green hat with mint green millinery flowers covering the entire thing for almost 10 years- that’s a pretty amazing thing given the fact that I pretty much sell most things I own sooner or later. I guess there are exceptions. I didn’t take a before picture. In the case that it turned out wrong, I refused to have a picture of a perfectly beautiful hat that I dismembered only to make a mess. Now that it turned out fine, I wish I had. I did take a during picture, so that those of you that know me wouldn’t be suspicious that I bought it and am deviously passing it off as my own. Proof was needed on this one. Well, WALAA!! I took one picture of it under glass. Everything is prettier under glass!!

I’ve just enjoyed six luxurious days of home time with my kiddos and hubby. I’ve made the dashes in town to answer your emails, and ship packages, but for the most part, I have been out of commission. My wonderful fill-in shop keeper Grace has kept us moving along at the shop this week. Thanks Grace! But now it’s back to work I go on Mon., but not before I get one last bit of spring break fun. I had a Birthday March 7th. Shhh!
I asked for nothing except to be taken to the Mid-American Flea Market, and it’s finally here. It opens Sunday morning in Wichita, KS. We will be driving up this evening and waking up before the sun in the morning to scour the grounds for wonderful vintage goods. I will share with you our finds next week. I hope our truck runith over! LOL. I am keeping one eye peeled for my Vintage Kitchen Swap partner DOLLY. I’m hopin to finish up her surprise there. I dream about taking a group of fun free spirited funky women with me someday on a road trip to all my favorite shopping places. So, get ready to hike up your skirts- knee high only girls, and get on board.

These vintage inspired foiled eggs are my favorite offering this spring. I can’t get over my love of all things vintage. And in spite the fact that these are brand spanking new, they are full of vintage charm. You have to check out the pics of them in the home of my friend and long time customer holly doodle. http://hollydoodledesigns.com/WordPress/?p=14 She just has a way of making everything look like something out of fantasy land, and her house is the supreme backdrop for Easter. Also, visit Every Day is a Holiday http://journals.aol.com/jennyeveryday/everyday-is-a-holiday/ . Jenny has taken some charming pics too. You have to scroll down a bit. One of my local customers purchased the pink foil basket and three eggs. One egg for each of her three children. She had each child put an Easter Wish for their Aunt in an egg. They gave it to her for an early Easter gift. What a wonderful surprise she must have had! Velvet Starwberrys has pics of the pink foil basket that she purchased. Go take a peek at her eye candy. Sorry girls this ones sold out! I hope to bring it back as a May Day basket. Email me if you want one reserved! http://velvetstrawberries.typepad.com/andreasingarella/
If you have pictures you would like to share, please let me know, and I will get them posted or add a link.

OK, I know I said I was only doing Fridays, but I’m getting a little excited about spring. I just thought I’d share with you this morning, the offerings that my daughter brought me last evening. She came peddling up the drive with her bicycle basket filled with these little beauties. I think they are pear. I’m only kinda sure. We just recently moved which some of you know. In our old home, we had a giant forsythia outside our back door. It has been tradition in our home to bring forsythia twigs in this time of year to watch them bloom indoors. I’m sure most of you know this, but you can bring branches from almost any flowering tree indoors, and the warmth of the home will make them bloom early. We no longer have a forsythia bush, but we do have a pear tree (I think). I’m still not exactly sure how she was able to reach the branches. I was so excited, I didn’t even ask her. I was probably working peacefully in my flowerbeds, while she was dangling from the tree, unaware that we were seconds from a trip to the emergency room. Anyhow, I thought I’d bring them in to the shop and share them. I put my little brown transfer ware dish beside them. The little brown flowers match. I found this dish at an auction. It was chipped and stained. No one wanted it, so I snatched it. I collect brown and white floral transfer ware. It sits on my sink ledge, and collects rocks and tiny treasures my kids bring me. It will hold things till it’s full. Then we empty it in a bigger jar. I will have to show a picture of our Gathering Jar. We are Gatherers. I actually come from a long line of gatherers, but that’s an entirely different story. We keep jars full of rocks, twigs, bread ties, beads, glass, sea glass, and various other things we pick-up when we are out and about. I never intended it to be anything special, but it has become very beautiful and contains so many memories. My kids love to add to it and reminisce over it. Well, there is work to be done. I will post as usual tomorrow. Bring a little spring indoors. It’s good for the Spirit!

It is almost Spring here in Oklahoma. I can’t begin to express how much I love this time of year. My favorite smell in the entire world is the smell inside a greenhouse. I love dirt. I would say I’m pretty much a girly girl- a little rough around the edges-girly no less, but I don’t mind getting dirty one bit. In fact, I actually kind of like it, and most of the time I can’t help it. Anyway, Spring is here, or at least today it is, so I have propped open the front door of my shop with a white antique urn filled with the most life-like Geraniums you will ever see. I have also drug an old chair outside, and a variety of other mobile things that were close to my door. The leaves are blowing in as I type, but so is the wonderful Spring breeze. I guess you can’t have it all. Maybe a few customers will blow in with the leaves.

Well, its been almost a month since An Affair of the Heart at Oklahoma City, and my little shop is beginning to take shape agian. Its always so much work to pack-up shop and go, but I always get inspired and meet so many talented and creative people. For the past two shows, I have been blessed with the creative decorating talent of Hollydoodle Designs. Check out her website at www.hollydoodledesigns.com . I’m convinced she can do everything. When your there, you have to check out her blog. She is so inspiring.

Thanks for coming over. You may have been a Miss Duffy’s customer for sometime now, or perhaps your just now coming aboard. Either way, I’m glad your here. Since we have moved more than a Sunday drive from most of you- I will drop you letters from my dear little rural shop. I want to share photos, ideas, and offerings. So, perhaps if you can’t make it out, you will feel as though you have. My musings in small town america will post on Fridays, so come on over and take a peek every now- and- again. I will let you in on my favorite fleamarketing places, introduce you to some of my ultra chic creative friends, and tell you all about the good things we love and can’t live without. I may even surprise you on a Tuesday, when I get the hang of it all. Can’t wait to see you on Friday!
